As Andrew Strauss is leading his team to triumph over the Australians to retain the Ashes, we thought it was only fitting to find an appropriate cheese to celebrate. What a perfect addition to any celebratory cake made of whole cheeses!
Little Urn was actually named for our 2005 Ashes victory; it is hard ewes’ milk cheese created by Lightwood Cheeses and has a delicious flavour. Set in the heart of Worcestershire, Lightwood Cheese use traditional artisan cheesemaking methods – their cheeses are entirely handmade and unpasteurised. They are award winning English cheese makers and have been recommended in Rick Stein’s Food Heroes Guide.
