The history of Valentine’s Day and its patron saint is shrouded in mystery, but we do know that February has long been a month of romance. St. Valentine’s Day, celebrated every February 14, contains snippets of both Christian and ancient Roman traditions and now all around the world flowers, chocolates, gifts and cards are sent to loved ones all in the name of St. Valentine.
However if it was left to us, we’d send cheese – Long Clawson Dairy have produced cheese sweets which are bonbon-sized balls of premium white Stilton and cost £8 per sweet or £32 per box of four. Each cheese bonbon is laced with a secret blend of ingredients including oysters, champagne and strawberries – cheeselicious!
If you are getting married this February and thinking about having a wedding cheese cake, we’d recommend topping your cake with the heart-shaped cheese from Godminster – vintage organic cheddar, in deep red wax. This cheddar is strong, with a creamy rather than crumbly texture & is very, very tasty
